Hebrew Old and New

I created the HEBREW OLD AND NEW series of acrylic paintings in 2023, when I was 94 years old, using the ancient art of stenciling. The series was part of several series of paintings inspired by reflection about constancy and change in world history. I had long been fascinated by the change of language over time, and had used old Hebrew in many of my ceramic sculptures. The present series gave me an opportunity to contrast, in painting, the old and the new form of Hebrew letters.
